Title: "Keeping birds in a modern world - an overview of my species and husbandry in a modern Brisbane backyard."
Speakers: Dr. Chris Schell (Qld)
Chris Schell is a professional ecologist, who now works as an Environmental Consultant specialising as a Botanist and Zoologist. In his consulting role, Chris has had the opportunity to observe and study wildlife, including many species of bird throughout Australia. Chris's passion for wildlife and interest in animal behaviour led to him entering the world of aviculture in 2014. He currently keeps various species of softbills, doves, quails and finches and uses his knowledge gained through field exposure to ensure their captive wellbeing. His talk will focus on the challenges of establishing and maintaining a viable collection in an urban backyard with a busy work life.
In addition we will commence with a short 10 minute presentation from Peter James on Winnowing Seed Why and How.
